Vale Idol, one of the highlights of the school’s calendar, was a spectacular success again this year. A huge number of pupils auditioned to gain a place in the final, held on Friday 7th October. The standard was very high and after long deliberation by the judges the following finalists selected were Emmy Bond, Amber Carlin, Madelyn Shaw-Mackay, Lily Dutton, Beth Jones, Phoebe Walsh, Calum Hutchinson, Lara Metcalfe, Ammarah Sidat and Katie Parkinson.
The prize winners, each receiving gift vouchers, were Ammarah Sidat in third place singing Can’t Help Falling in Love and in second place Katie Parkinson with Beautiful. Our Vale Idol 2016 was, Year 7 pupil with a mighty voice, Madelyn Shaw-Mackay singing The Wizard and I. 
The judges would like to say a big thank you to all who participated and look forward to an equally impressive range of performances next year.
